Welcome to the world of infamous, where you take the role of Cole McGrath who recently hand a hair rising experience, which gained him some new powers, turning him into a super hero… but is it shockingly good or does it just fizzle out.
Story:
Much like the God Of War games you’re thrown straight into the game from the press of the start button, from here the city is destroyed and you are at ground zero where a few strange things begin to happen to you, some things that should of killed any other man.
Shortly after this brief tutorial a comic book inspired cutscene takes place detailing the events after the explosion which left the city in turmoil and the gangs to easily take control. Every major plot point is told using the comic effect although a lot of the story plays out through short in game cutscenes and radio chatter between Cole and his friends.

Through the story you meet only a few important character like your friend Zeke and your Girlfriend Trish, but there are also important NPC characters which a quite interesting.
The Voice of survival is a character trapped within the city like your self however VOS starts saying propaganda against the US and you, stating you’re a terrorist, which in turn places the citizens and Trish against you.
Out of the city however is a News reporter putting a positive spin on whatever is happening with the City, i.e. if you restore power to parts of the city, she will say it was some organisation helping the city and no mention of a super hero.
The story can easily take you up to 20 hours of gameplay, and further 5 hours more completing all the side quests. The story will also take you on an electrical rollercoaster with quite a few twists, a few you might just see coming up but so many will shock you and leave you ecstatic for a sequel.
Gameplay:
Armed with power, it’s up to you to make amoral decision, Save the city or Destroy it.
The game gives you a number of choices in its open world environment allowing you to do what you think is right for the character, from saving a police station to beating up some citizens for marching against your evil ways.
To get across this open world Cole uses a variety of skills and powers, from simple pakour, Assassin’s Creed inspired climbing to using his electric powers to ride train rails and over head power cables and even static as thrust to glide across the city.

However these powers are unlocked along the way with many others, such as lighting grenades, static shield, lighting storm and a number of useful attacks to take down your enemies, be at it the gangs or police.
The game is at heart a platformer with a bit of a shooter mixed in creating quite an exciting game to play specially when it comes to you being immersed within the city, with crowd cheering for you, if you’re a hero, or throwing rocks and spray graffiti over your posters if you are truly infamous.
Speaking of the crowd they offer a variety of, good, evil and just random mission’s that lead to doing more than just shooting people… well most of time like escort a group of gang members to a police station, follower a courier to a drop off point or kick in some civilians protesting against you, of course these all depend on what path you choose to take it.
There are also a number of collectables you can get in the game, that go towards earning yourself a trophy, like collecting blast shards, of which are a good three hundred in the game and Dead Drops which you can get from certain satellites, there are only 32 of these and each one helps tell the story leading up to the final conclusion.

Graphics:
For an open world game, the game looks visually stunning with each building standing out as original and greatly detailed with no blurred textures, and the lighting is pretty amazing specially when travelling in the swears of Empire City.
However the game is without its flaws as there is some pop up and glitches with NPC’s out of place or a car stuck under a truck with no driver.
Anyone who’s a fan of superheros, open world gaming, or just great games should pick up this game.
